"Hi my name is Lise and I am the owner/ operator of Denman Village Early Learning Centre. With over 20 years experience as an Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Director I have a passion for educating and caring for children. From my passion came a desire to create a state of the art centre that not only provides high quality early childhood education, but also feels like an extension of your family."
Developing essential relationships and shaping the growth of your children.
I believe that the relationships we, as educators, have with children at a young age is essential and an integral part of a child's growth and development. Our influence can shape a child life and the partnership that we have with families allows us to create a trusting, supportive, caring environment that we have at here at Denman Village Early Learning Centre.
We are committed to providing high quality care and education to all children that is respectful and nurturing. The program is responsive to the evolving nature of early childhood environment and is supportive of different learning styles. An ongoing process of critical reflection allows us to ensure that quality is achieved and that children are able to reach their full potential.
Our physical environment is challenging, achievable and based on intentional teaching principles, practices and learning outcomes. We believe that the physical environment is a fundamental component to children’s learning thinking and ideas. The learning environment is responsive to the needs and wellbeing of children educators and families.
Relationships are the foundation for successful partnership and educators understand that they take time to develop. Parents and educators work together in partnership to support children's holistic development in a mutually supportive and caring environment. Relationships with children are respectful, responsive, and reciprocal.
Open communication allows families to feel comfortable and secure. We encourage families to provide feedback and suggestions about the centres routines, programs and environment. Families' cultural backgrounds are valued and respected by being embedded into our daily practices. We believe in taking an active role in developing strong partnerships and connections with the community.
We value educators diverse skills, knowledge and the personal and professional contributions that they bring to the centre. Empathy, respect, warmth and a passion for learning are some of the personal attributes educators bring to the centre. We value a learning community amongst our educators and support this through employing qualified educators and providing ongoing training, professional development, and educational leadership. All educators work in a respectful and professional way supporting one another.
The rights of children are central to our teaching and learning. Children's voices, hopes and dreams are central to our decision-making process. We acknowledge that interactions, warmth and attachment are fundamental elements that provide opportunities for children to develop feelings of Being, Belonging and Becoming and these feeling encourage children to reach their full potential.
The needs of children, families and the community are constantly changing, and ongoing critical reflection is essential to create a service that is responsive to those needs. Reflective practices are embedded in all aspects of the service to ensure an ongoing process of quality improvement and change.
Our program reflects Australia's multicultural society, enhancing the children's awareness of and respect for cultural differences and similarities. We acknowledge that every child is unique and bring with them their own values, culture and community perspectives. Educators are sensitive to and respectful of these practices.
We are committed to ensuring viability of our actions to support our vision of a resourceful and prosperous future We understand that our actions impact the environment and we are committed to ensuring that together with the children we are implementing and learning about sustainable practices. We support children in valuing and building their relationships with all living things. We support long term relationships with people, places and spaces.
